Sprinklers & Sun = Fun

Good evening everyone! Once again I'm bringing you a vacation layout. The pictures aren't great because I can't get the right lighting in my hotel room, but they will do for now.

It's been a long time since I've done a double-page layout. I used sketch #404 from Scrapbook Challenges for this. I love the simplicity. Instead of using three 4x6 I broke the picture spaces up and used five 3x3 photos. I also used my new kit from Noel Mignon. I love the fun summer colors!

I'm in love with Doodlebug's Sprinkles. I have tons of tubes of them now. They worked perfectly with this layout.

I used some Washi tape from an older Noel Mignon kit. It worked perfectly with these colors.

Thank you so much for taking a look at my layout. Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.

Meeting Baby Emily

Good evening everyone! Today I'm still on vacation, but that doesn't stop me from scrapbooking. I just bring my basic supplies and use my evening times to get crafty. Always fun!

For this layout I used a sketch from Let's Get Sketchy. Their sketches are so much fun to work with. I also used my new kit from Noel Mignon. I love the bright summer colors!

These little felt flowers are lots of fun! So cute and girly.
It's rare that I get pictures of my sister and I together. Her daughters are just adorable!

These little bits of embellishments make me happy.

Thank you so much for taking a look at my layout. Please leave a comment to let me know your thoughts.

I Love Who You Are!

Hello everyone! This week's challenge from Lasting Memories Challenges is Anything Goes. That's right...create whatever you like! Sometimes those can be the hardest to do. I always love having a sketch or colors to boost my inspiration. And that didn't change for this project. I had so much fun making this layout! And, I used scraps to create it. What an awesome way to use up all those little bit of paper I have laying around.

My daughter is beautiful; she always has been. But beyond that, she is so much more. I absolutely love who she has become. She's nearly 20 now and really coming into the person she was meant to be. I'm loving watching her grow up.

To create this layout I used a free sketch from Scrapbook Generation's July 2014 CREATE magazine. I loved the idea of the strips of paper creating this background. I used their sketch and made it my own as well. Lots of fun!

I used October Afternoon Mini Market alphas for the title. Sometimes the little letters are just what is needed. The stars are Heidi Swapp embellishments. The flair and sequins were little things I had in my stash.

These strips of paper are so much fun! Inking all the edges was a bit messy, but it adds so much detail.

This large tag was left over from a kit from Noel Mignon. The papers come from that kit as well. I love the little bits of Washi tape as well.

Don't forget to head to Lasting Memories to take on this challenge. Play with your supplies and have fun!
I hope you enjoyed looking at my layout. Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

Why Eat It When You Can Wear It?

I'm having so much fun scrapping my old photos. My little boy is nearly nine now, but in these pictures he was just nearly one. So cute!

I used a sketch from Stuck?! Sketches for this layout. I added a few more pictures to the sketch. I love the effect. I cut some spirals on my Cricut and tucked them under some of the photos. I kinda went crazy with the ink, arrows, alphas, enamel dots and doodling. Lots of fun!

I have an alpha obsession. I love that I got to use four different types of alphas for the title.

I love this cute little face all covered in spaghetti!

I inked all the edges in dark blue ink. I also used blue ink to doodle around the page as well.

I am also using this layout to enter a challenge issued by Scrap Our Stash Challenge Blog . The challenge is to use five or more items on their "shopping list". Off of their list I chose:

Stars (more than 3)
Enamel Dots (more than 3)
Dimensional Stickers (the yellow Thicker Alphas)
Arrows (3)
Die Cuts (the swirls that I cut on my Cricut)

I had a lot of fun shopping for this layout. So many goodies on one page!

Thank you for taking a look at my page. Please leave a comment to let me know your thoughts.

My Boys are Awesome

I had so much fun creating this layout! At first I was a bit stuck on what papers I wanted to use and how to create the angle I wanted, but suddenly it all came together. Honestly, the ribbon did it for me. As soon as I put it on the layout my creative energy started flowing.

I used a sketch from ScrapMuch? To create this layout, as soon as I saw the sketch I knew I wanted to use it. The angle was just fun! I used lots of scrap papers that I had on hand, and lots of different scrappy goodness from my stash. It was fun to go hunting in my stash for just the right things.

Wooden nickels are so much fun. I pulled these two from different manufacturers. I matted my pictures with a cute yellow paper I had in my scraps. Not no my normal white mats....I love the way they turned out!

This little corner of happy was an afterthought. It just looked kinda empty so I cut a semi circle of one paper and a corner of another and put them in. A few enamel dots, a flair, and suddenly it was a fun little accent corner.

I had these boy stickers in my stash for awhile. I was happy to get a chance to use them. I put my journaling on the little tag, and tied a coarse yellow ribbon on it. A few splashes of yellow Color Shine and some enamel dots really set it all off.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my layout as much as I enjoyed making it. Please leave a comment and let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

Happy Birthday to Me

Good morning everyone! I found this picture in my stash of picture boxes and really wanted to scrap it. It's rare that my best friend and I have pictures together. Weird huh? This was from 2006, and I don't think we have more than a handful of pictures together since then. That's something we need to change!

I wanted this layout to be fun. I used a lot of patterned papers. I'm still not sure that I like the way it turned out, but since I tore it apart twice before getting this layout I decided to just go with it. I used the Bella Blvd Scattered Sprinkles line for this one, I also used sketch #401 from Scrapbook Challenges to create this layout.

I tried all sorts of different alpha stickers, but it was difficult to find ones that stood out from the background. I found these green glitter Thickers and knew I had to use them!

I love doodling on my pages, and I really felt that the squares of patterned papers needed to stand out so I used different doodling on each type.

I added stickers from the Bella Blvd collection and some enamel dots for dimension.

Thank you for checking out my layout. I hope you found it fun.

Family

Welcome back everyone! Today I am revealing my layout for ScrapStuffz "Inspired By" Challenges . Here is this month's inspiration photo:

The moment I saw this photo, back in early June, I thought of my grandmother. She has always loved blue glass, and I have so many memories of watching and feeding birds with her. Where ever she lived her space was always filled with blue. She's the reason I love the color so much. But, I didn't have any good photos of her, and I procrastinated on my layout for the challenge. Then, on July 12th, my grandmother passed away. She went peacefully in her sleep, as she always wanted, and I know she's happy to be in heaven. Strangely, one of the first things I thought of was this picture and how much she would have loved it. So, I knew I had to do my layout about her. My cousin shared a picture that she had taken of my grandmother and all four of her children. I knew I'd use the photo as soon as I saw it. So, here is my layout about my Grandma Phyllis using the inspiration photo:

I made this layout a bit country chic, which is out of my comfort zone, but it is just what my grandma would have loved. She was a musician from the time she was four (violin and piano), so I was thrilled to use the music paper with birds. All of the paper comes from Authentic. It's perfect!

The little bird had been in my stash for a very long time. It was plain acrylic, so used some Gelatos to color it. I love how it turned out! I also adore the little bluebird on the paper. (The lady in the picture is my mother.)

The little cage is also acrylic. I used two different paint dabbers to color it. I used an organza ribbon to soften the layout some more.

Once again I used some acrylic birds. I used the Gelatos to color them too, but I smoothed them out to just give a hint of color.

To complete this layout I used a sketch from Scrap Our Stash Challenge Blog .

I hope you enjoyed my layout as much as I do. It's amazing where an inspiration photo can take you. Head over to ScrapStuffz "Inspired By" Challenges and take on this challenge yourself. Don't forget to tell us what inspired you. I can't wait to see what you create!

Dinner Time Nom Nom!

Good morning everyone! Today I'm bringing you a layout that I did just for me. I'm loving it!

I used sketch #403 from Scrapbook Challenges for this layout. I also used papers from my Sweet & a Simple Noel Mignon kit, and other things from my stash.

These gold Thickers make me happy. But, I've run out of the letter E. So, I used the number 3 turned upside down. Unfortunately, now I'm out of 3s too. :)

I always doodle on my pages. This sketch definitely called for stitches, so I doodled them on.

Flairs are one of my new favorite embellishments. They just bring me a little more happy. And that cute little face!?! My favorite!

Thanks for taking the time to look over my layout today. I hope you get a chance to scrap for the fun of it sometime soon too.

Here was my sneak peak:

Now, time to reveal my complete layout!

To create my layout I used my CTMH Artbooking Cricut cartridge to cut out the circle overlay. Then I lightly drew the circles with a pencil on my base cardstock, using the overlay as a stencil. After that I began filling the circles on the cardstock with buttons and flowers. I filled the pinwheel circles with patterned paper which I adhered directly to the back of the overlay. Once I was done with that I pop dotted the back and laid it in place. I love the window effect it created! I then added bits of paper to the base for accents, some Thickers for the title, and the pictures. I finished it off with some doodling, as usual.

I hope you enjoyed my inspiration layout. You can try this technique all over your page like I did, or just create a small accent with buttons in a "window". Have fun!

Your next stop is Toni's blog!! Please be sure to become a member of my blog before you go. And don't forget to jot down my letter which is Y.

Have fun and happy hopping!

HOP LINE UP

A Beautiful Day at the Beach

I joined a Design Team for a brand new challenge group called Three or More . Each month followers are challenged to use three or more photos on a layout, and will also have an added challenge to go with it. This month, July, our first challenge is to use frames.

I've had these cute Jillibean fames in my stash for a long time. I decided they were perfect for this challenge. I kept the layout pretty simple this time as the pictures are peaceful beach pictures. Everything about spending time with my husband at the ocean is peaceful to me. Originally the top photo was going to be a picture of my husband flying his kite, which I loved, but I finally decided that even though I don't love this photo of me, I still need to be a part of our scrapbooks. I'm getting better at including me than I used to be.

I always have to doodle on my pages. I think that and inking the edges are essential elements for me.

I adore these little wooden hearts. They are so versatile. I'm getting better at using my own handwriting on my layouts. It's not perfect, but it's part of me. I'm glad I journaled my thoughts on this layout.

Please join us at Three or More and take on the July challenge of Frames. You have until July 31st, so get those layouts in!

You can find the Three or More Facebook page Here.

You Make Me Happy!

I fell in love with this picture the moment I saw it. My daughter takes awesome Selfies! And my granddaughter....I adore that toothy grin. So sweet!

I used a sketch from Stick It Down to create this layout. I love a simple sketch that I can add to and make my own. I used the Balboa kit from Noel Mignon for this layout. I love all e bright colors. This was a fun page to make.

See those little teeth? So adorable!

I fussy cut the hearts from another paper and then outlined them with a pink pen. The sequins were from my stash. I like to add them for a bit of shine.

These Thickers are bright and glittery; perfect for a girl page. All of this just makes me happy!

Thank you for looking over my layout. Please join my blog and leave me some comments. I'd love to know what you think of my "work".

Together We Are Family

My daughter took this selfie of herself and her family. So cute! I just had to scrap it.

To create this layout I used a sketch from Stick It Down . I loved how simple the sketch was and how I was able to add things to it as I went.

I used supplies from my Noel Mignon kit called Balboa. The chalk board papers and bright colors were so much fun to play with.

The butterflies were in the reverse side of the pink striped paper. I fussy cut them and then pop dotted them to stand out. I added some clear Stickles to the bodies of the butterflies to add some bling.

Enamel dots make everything so much more fun. I love the little pops of color they add. I also used a white Gelly Roll pen to add the date and some doodle detail around the sides.

The glitter trim has been in my stash for awhile. It worked perfectly with the colors from the kit.

Thank you for checking out my layout. Please take the time to become a member of my blog. I'd love to read any comments you have. Thanks!

Can I Drive? No?

The moment I saw these pictures I fell in love with them. My granddaughter is adorable! The look on her little face just shows what a character she is. So, of course, I had to scrap them.

To create this layout I used a sketch from ScrapMuch? . I turned. The sketch sideways and added a couple pictures. The sketch worked better with my pictures turned this way.

I used my current kit from Noel Mignon. Most of the papers were from Fancy Pants, their Burlap and Bouquets line. I love the colors in the kit! I also had a 6x6 paper pad in the same line, and it found the paper with the flowers, I fussy cut around the flowers to create the great circle accent behind the pictures. Because the papers were so busy with design I decided to keep the embellishments simple. A little burlap tag, a couple flair, and some enamel dots. I really like the way it turned out.

Her little disappointed face is just so adorable!

And that little grin? Gets me every time!

I've been waiting for the perfect place to use this flair. It perfect for this layout!

I hope you enjoyed my layout. I would love to hear your comments. Thanks so much for stopping by.
