100% Awesome

I love this picture of my son! He was absolutely adorable, and I wanted to showcase it with a simple layout. I love how this one turned out.

I used a sketch from ScrapMuch? for this layout. I also used one of my Noel Mignon kits, with a few things from my stash as well.

I love typing my journaling into strips, so when I saw it on the sketch by Laura Whitaker, I knew I'd keep that just like she had it. I like how it links the cut pieces of paper together.

This title is from Queen & Co. It's puffy and self-adhesive. I love how simple it was to use. This little ribbon has been in my stash for awhile. I adore it! Again, it was self-adhesive. That makes adhering ribbon so much easier.

These little hearts are adorable. They are wood veneer, so I added color to them with Heidi Swapp Color Mist in Salmon. They match the papers perfectly.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my layout. Please leave me some blog love and let me know what you think. Have a great week!

You Are My Favorite Work of Art

This page has been a long time coming. These pictures of of my daughter, Crystyl, from 1997. She's turning 21 this year and has a daughter of her own. Even more amazing is the fact that the painted paper in this layout is Crystyl's original paintings. I've held on to them all this time! I'm so happy that I did.

I used a sketch from Stuck?!Sketches for this page. I love Laura Whitaker's sketches, so I was very happy to see this one. I used bits and pieces from things in my stash to create this layout.

This heart has been in my stash for a very long time. I really liked it with the layout. The doilies are recent additions to my stash. I love how little they are. I decided to hand write my journaling on this page. I'm not really fond of my handwriting, but I always remember that my kids will like to see my handwriting someday.

I used four different alphas for this title. I'm a bit of an alpha addict. I adore these big gold Thickers. Normally Thickers come with several of each letter and two sheets, but these only came with one of each letter and one sheet. They are stiff, and really thick. I will be using them sparingly; especially because once I use a letter it's gone.

My daughter was so adorable (she's beautiful now). My granddaughter looks so much like her. I love scrapping these old photos and seeing the resemblance up close. Here you can see more of Crystyl's painting. I drew on the colors she used to create this layout.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my layout. I think this will be one of my favorites simply because I was able to use my daughter's art. Please leave me some blog love and let me know your thoughts. Thank you!

Love This

Good afternoon! I finally got a chance to scrapbook yesterday for the first time in months. It took me a bit of time to get back in the grove, but I finally got there. I loved getting to play with my papers and pretties again! This is a picture of my daughter, Crystyl, and son-in-law, Dominick, at her first Mariner's game. They are adorable!

I used Sketch #131 from Let's Capture Our Memories for this layout. I loved the simple lines of the sketch that allowed me to follow it as much as I wanted while still adding my own flair. I used papers and embellishments from my Noel Mignon kit, as well as a few items from my own stash.

Embellishments make me happy. I added enamel dots and hearts, clips, ribbons, chipboard pieces, buttons and flowers to this layout. I also used my black recollections pen to add doodles in different areas around the layout.

I had this ribbon in my stash, but I loved it with the other details in the page. Here you can see the embellishment clusters I created.

These little cards are from Heidi Swapp I believe. They were also in my stash. I hadn't planned on using the card as the title, but when I got ready to add another title nothing looked right. This one said it all!

Thanks for taking the time to look at my layout. I had fun making it, and I hope you enjoyed looking at it. Please leave me some blog love and let me know your thoughts.

Dinner Time

Good afternoon! This is my last layout that I completed back in May. It's nice to finally get it posted!!

These are pictures of my darling granddaughter, Meila, having dinner. She was so adorably chubby!

I used a sketch from ScrapMuch? for this layout. I also used my Noel Mignon kit for the paper and embellishments.

I loved this little mason jar clip the moment I saw it. So cute! I hand sew these on my pages to get them to stay in place. I find that works better than adhesive. I added the little sparkly enamel dot in the heart. I don't normally use many bows, but this page called for one. So cute!

Meila really gets into her food. I love this series of pictures. I added lots of layers of patterned paper to show these pictures off. I kept the most distracting patterns farther from the pictures.

These pink glitter Thickers are perfectly "girly". I added parts of circles at the top and bottom of the page. These help offset the squares on the page. I love using flair and other embellishments to draw the eye to things I want to be seen.

Thank you for looking at my layout. Please leave me some blog love and let me know your thoughts.

Adventure

Good afternoon. Here is another layout that I completed in May. I'm so happy to finally get them all up on my blog. These pictures are from our trip to South Dakota during the summer of 2014. We stopped at Painted Dessert Rest Stop on our way. The colors there are beautiful!

The sketch I used for this was from Stuck?!Sketches. I love the circles and squares together.

I used my Noel Mignon kit for this layout. It had this adorable cork title that was perfect! I love the papers too. They were just what I needed for this layout. I wrote my journaling around the edges of the page. I had a story to tell about this stop, but I didn't want it to intrude with the layout.

I love layers! This photo frame allowed me to add another dimension of layers. I love adding doodles to my pages. I used the same pen to do my journaling, and to add stitch marks around the circle and other papers.

I don't normally round the corners of my pictures, but it was a perfect addition to this layout. It added to the circles and squares all over the page. The cork arrows came with the cork title.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my layout. I hope you enjoyed it.

I Love Us!

Good afternoon! I'm bringing you another layout that I completed in May. This picture is a selfie that my husband and I took together. We drove up to some land that we love after a professional photo shoot (so we were dressed up in matching clothes) and decided to take this picture. I love it!

I used Teresa Collin's Urban Market set for this layout. I adore the blues and silvers!

I love using stamps for the date. I stamped several times with the ink lightening a little with each stamp. (Aren't we cute?)

I typed my journaling and cut it into strips. It's one of my most favorite ways to add journaling. I used lots of different patterned papers for this page. So much fun!

The swirls of thread are simple sewing thread. I've started collecting many different colors because it makes a great accent. Speaking of accents, aren't those Thickers awesome?

Another close up of the thread. It works perfectly with this page!

Thank you for looking at my page. I enjoyed making it, and I hope you enjoyed looking at it.

Selfie Fun

Good afternoon everyone! Today I'm happy to bring you a layout that I completed back in May. The picture is one of my son, William, and myself after my grandmother's memorial service. William went for a walk by himself to think, and I followed him. After awhile we both cried, then we laughed together. We decided to take some fun pictures of our blotchy, sad/happy faces. Laughter through tears is always the best.

I just remnants from a past Noel Mignon kit for this page. The sketch for this page came from ScrapMuch? back in May, but I didn't get it posted in time to enter it.

I used lots of layers of paper for this layout. The green glitter Thickers were just fun. I love the little grouping of embellishments.

This transparent orange #Summer was cute, but it didn't stand out much. I used a recollections pen in Espresso to outline it. Now it's a great focal point, especially surrounded by more of those cute embellishments.

That bicycle paper is adorable. And that little toothy grin on my little man...so cute! This time I wrote my journaling instead of typing it. I'm not fond of my handwriting, but I think it's important to have it on some of my layouts so my kids can see it.

These pictures are what it's all about. I love scrapping our memories!

Thanks for taking the time to look at my layout. Have a great weekend!

Not All Who Wander Are Lost

Hello everyone! I have been absent from my blog and from scrapbooking for WAY too long! This summer my husband and I remodeled our entire house, putting in all new bamboo floors and painting every room. It was a massive project. Most everything was packed up for several months, including my scrapbooking things, so I was unable to do anything for a long time. I'm finally back. Yay! I'm starting by posting a few pages that I got done before the remodel that I never got on my blog. So, here goes.

This page makes me happy! Summer 2014 we traveled by car, the 2nd time, from Washington State to my parent's house in South Dakota. I took these pictures at one of the many rest stops. When I looked at them I realized just how much my boys look alike. I love how similar they are!

I used papers from my Noel Mignon kit for this layout. I also used various items from my stash to compliment the papers. I love the way it turned out!

I love using multiple patterned papers. Mixing orange and blue makes me happy too. They look wonderful together.

I tend to type my journaling as I'm not very fond of my own handwriting. Typing it and putting it on strips is one of my favorite ways to add the journaling.

This paper is perfect!

Another thing I love to do is use multiple types of alphas. I found both of these in my stash. I have a bit of an alpha obsession.

I used a sketch from Sketch 'N Scrap for this layout. It was due way back in May, so I never got it submitted, which is too bad, but I just love this page anyway.

Thanks for taking a look at my page. I'm hoping to be able to post more often now that our house is done. Have a great rest of the weekend!
