Oh Boy - Sketchy Boards Challenge

I am so excited about this layout! I won the honor of being a guest designer for Sketchy Boards Challenge and I was thrilled to get the opportunity. Heidi supplied me with an amazing sketch and inspiration picture, and I knew exactly what I wanted to do. Here is the Sketch I was given:

Awesome, right? And here is the inspiration picture:

Right away that orange just popped out at me. I knew I had to use orange, yellow, and black on my layout. Love!

So, here is what I created:

I used a picture of my beautiful boy. I love, love, love my son! This picture makes me so happy. I chose a black and what picture so it wouldn't compete with the colors I wanted to use on the page. The minute I saw the sketch I remembered these great Tuesday Morning chipboard stars that I've had in my stash for years. I'm so glad I held on to them. They are perfect!

The background paper is from Bella Blvd. I loved the bold pattern on the dark color. To add some detail to the page I used a Jim Holtz stencil and Quick Quotes Powder Puff Ink in Blue Jeans. I pushed the ink into the stencil around the page. I adore the effect it made.

I love, love, love layers. I also love mixing patterned papers. So much fun! In this picture you can see all the wonderful layers of paper and ephemera. So much fun!

I had these large white cardstock alphas in my stash for awhile too. I love how the white stands out against all the patterns and bright colors. The 'oh' is from a pack of glitter Thickers that I've had in my stash as well. I think I used a lot of supplies that have been begging to be used on this page.

I used a gold Uniball Signo pen to create the circles on the page. They add a bit of detail without adding dimension. The tickets in the corner were just the color I wanted, but I didn't like the words on them. So, I simply turned them over and outlined the edges. They became the perfect place to do my quick journaling and to add an embellishment cluster.

I used pop-dots under the picture because it sat up on the star which had dimension. I also pop-dotted a couple accent stars for more dimension. Here you can also see that I outlined the large star with white faux stitching using a white Gelly Roll pen. I love doodling on my pages.

And finally, the "star" of the page (pun intended). These stars were plain, white chipboard when I pulled them out of the package. To create the wonderful colors, depth and shine and painted them with Twinkling H20s in Ginger Peach, Indian Copper, and Yellow Rose. I then used some Ultra Embossing Powder to create a nice, thick layer of shine on them. They turned out just the way I had hoped. Perfect!

Please join Sketchy Boards Challenge this month for this fun sketch challenge. I had a blast using it, and I'm sure you will do.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my layout as much I had enjoyed making it. Please take a moment and follow my blog. I'd love to have you join me! Thank you.

Adventure

I love scrapping pictures of my daughter and her family. These pictures are of my daughter, her husband, and my granddaughter at the park. So sweet!

Most of the papers for this page came from the Echo Park Hugs &Kisses collection. I love the pinks and reds!
I used a sketch from Sketch~N~Scrap for this layout. I changed it up a bit and added an extra picture.

I love using flair on my on my pages. This piece of flair has been in my stash for awhile. I'm glad I was able to use it. I also used gold rub-ons from Jubilee all over the page. Lots of fun to work with!

I thought about adding mist, or doodles to this white space, but in the end I decided to leave the white to give the eyes a break; a resting place. I used gold ink to edge all my papers, and I also used it to stamp the date in the page.

I adore these little crochet hearts. So cute! I also added a gold rub-on heart, some little confetti hearts, and some gold enamel hearts. Lots of fun in a little corner of the page!

I hope you enjoyed looking at my page. Please leave me some blog love and let me know your thoughts. If you can, please join my blog as well. Thanks!

Daddy's Little Girl

I love pictures of my granddaughter. These pictures of her with her daddy are so sweet!

I created this layout for a challenge on the FB group SG Scrap Squad. I loved the sketch that they supplied for the challenge. I used papers and embellishments that have been in my stash for a long time. So much fun!

I used three types of alphas for this title. Two types of Thickers and one type of letter sticker. I used several colors of pens to add detail to the page as well.

The arrows on the page are rub-ons. They are adorable! I also used wood veneer hearts, enamel dots, and enamel hearts to add fun detail to the page. Love!

There is so much happy on this layout. I adore all the sweetness in the pictures. Everything on the page just adds to the sweetness.

Thank you for taking a look at my layout. Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

Love Our Family

It's been a long time since I created a double-page layout. I always take so many pictures at the pumpkin patch that it's much easier to fit them in double-page layouts.

I created this layout for a challenge on the FB group SG Scrap Squad. It was fun to play with the sketch they supplied.

I used two types of alphas for the title. I especially love the gold letters. I typed my journaling on my computer and cut it into strips. I really like adding my journaling to pages this way.

I used my Cricut to cut out these leaves. I used a gold Signo Ball pen to draw the veins in them. Adding enamel dots made the leaves stand out even more.

The colors in this layout make me very happy. Anything having to do with fall makes me happy. I love the golds, greens, oranges and browns. Lots of fun!

I used my gold Signo pen to add embellishments to the page. The pen creates great accents.

Thank you for looking at my page. I appreciate your time!

Hello

Today I'm showcasing a layout of myself. It doesn't happen often, but sometimes it's nice to include myself in our family albums.

I used a sketch from ScrapMuch? for this layout. Another wonderful Laura Whitaker sketch. My favorite! I also used this page for a challenge from SG Scrap Squad. The Challenge was to create a layout using at least three gold items. I used a gold word sticker, gold sequins, and gold metallic thread.

I'm in love with the colors in this layout. Everything just came together quickly, and I love how it turned out. I used chipboard hearts, enamel dots, and this cute button tied with gold thread for the embellishment cluster at the corner of my picture.

I based the color scheme off of the camera paper that I cut into strips. Everything worked so well together. The little brown bag behind the picture has been in my stash for a very long time. I love that I finally found the place to use it.

I used a Tim Holtz stencil and some coral Quick Quotes ink to add the dots on the page. I liked how it added so much detail with something so simple.

Thank you for taking a look at my layout. Please leave me some blog love and let me know your thoughts.

Sweet Little Man

I love being able to scrap pictures of my sweet, little man. Even when he's sick he's adorable.

I used a sketch from Stuck?! Sketches. Laura Whitaker sketches make me happy!

I also used this layout for a challenge from the FB challenge group SG Scrap Squad. The challenge was "Build Your Own Super Bowl Sub Layout". I used patterned paper and cardstock for the "bun", a punch and stencil for the "meat", enamel dots, twine, wood veneer, buttons, and letter stickers for the "extras", and ink and a pen for the "dipping sauce". Lots of fun!!

And last, I used this layout Paper Issues February Take Five Challenge. To fulfill this challenge I used the color red, the color pink, a heart, patterned paper, a tag, cardstock, ink, and something wood grain. I had a great time fitting it all in!

I used lots of layers in this layout. I used different color pens to doodle on all the pieces of paper I used to create the layers. I used these adorable crochet hearts around the layout. Love!

I used three types of alphas on this page. They complete this adorable embellishment cluster. The wooden button has been in my stash forever. It worked perfectly for this page.

I used a stencil and some red Quick Quotes chalk ink to make the little red dots on the page. Lots of fun!

Thanks for taking a look at my page. I appreciate your time. Please leave me some blog love and let me know your thoughts.

My Love

I don't often get to take a good picture of my wonderful husband, Troy, so when I do, I make sure to scrap it.

I used a sketch from Stick It Down. I loved the simplicity of it, and the straight lines. I really like straight lines!
I also used a challenge from Paper Issues FB Group. The challenge was a Pinspire me board.

I played off of the reds, blacks and whites, and the boxes that created the picture collage.
And last, I used this page for a challenge from SG Scrap Squad. It was called the "All I Want to Do is Scrapbook" challenge; use any theme, size, colors. Easy!

I used red glitter Thickers for the title of this layout. I love the deep red color! I framed the picture of my husband with white cardstock, and inked the edges with red Quick Quotes chalk ink. I used the same ink to edge most of the papers on the page.

I love using my white Quick Quotes chalk ink! Every time I use black paper that ink comes out. I also used my white Signo pen to add some journaling to the bottom of my page.

I was able to use four different patterned paper on my page. I love this simple layout that says so much.

Thank you for taking a look at my page. Please leave me some blog love and let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

Cupcake!

I love scrapping pictures of my daughter, Crystyl, and my granddaughter, Meila. They are both just adorable!

I used papers and embellishments from my past Noel Mignon kits. I adore her kits! To create this page I used a sketch from ScrapMuch? to create this page. It's another adorable Laura Whitaker sketch. My favorite! Due to my busy life, I didn't get this page submitted to ScrapMuch? in time for the challenge deadline, but that's okay, I adore this page!

This paper was perfect for this layout. I love the little blocks of happy thoughts. I used a pink ZigWriter pen to write some quick journaling, and to doodle on the page. This little wood veneer '&' has been in my stash for awhile. I'm so happy I was finally able to use it!

Aren't those girls adorable? I used pink, glitter Thickers for the title. I had these crochet hearts in my stash and had to use them on this page. They are perfect!

The heart background paper is exactly what I wanted for this page. I love the soft pink with the black and grey accents.

Thanks for taking a look at my layout. Please leave me your thoughts, and if you can, please join my blog.

Together is Where I Always Want to Be

I'm in love with this layout. It's rare that my husband and I get pictures, but we took a couple small trips last year and finally had some time together. I love getting a chance to scrap us!

I used various papers and embellishments from past Noel Mignon kits for this page. I created the page for a sketch challenge on the Facebook Group page SG Scrap Squad. I had tons of fun creating it!

Okay...I see the mistake in the title now. How did I not see the double "want" when I made the page? Who knows?!? The white alphas that spell Want have now been removed. I didn't feel like taking the photos again, to be honest, so just image it's gone.

I used a set of phrase Thickers for the title, along with three different types of alphas. I love mixing alphas on layouts!

I added gold accents to the page to break up the blues and teals. I adore this acetate strip of gold arrows that I stitched down with my sewing machine. I pop-dotted the gold hearts on the page to give them dimension.

I love these colors! Blues, teals and whites are my colors. Beautiful! The doodling just kind of happened as I went. The page called for lots of straight lines, so I went with it. I also used Dyllusions White Spray Mist to add accents to the page.

I hand wrote my journaling on this little note card. I'm not always fond of my handwriting, but I think it's important to be on my pages now and again.

And, the two of us "together", even if we are in separate pictures. I love how happy and relaxed we look.

I hope you enjoyed looking at my layout. Please let me know your thoughts, and join my blog if you can. Thanks!

Best Friends Forever

It's rare that my best friend, Michelle, and I get pictures taken together. As soon as I saw these, I knew I'd be scrapping them. It still took me a couple years to get them on a page though. Go figure!

I used various papers and embellishments from past Noel Mignon kits, and from my stash. I had fun playing with this page. I had a sketch originally, but I didn't follow it much, so it's kind of my own creation. I did complete this page for a challenge for the Facebook Group SG Scrap Squad. I had a great time creating it.

I love this background paper. Michelle and I have been best friends for the past 21 years. I love her like my sister; to the stars and back!
I used Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Primrose to add large drops and some speckles to this page. Lots of fun!

This heart clip was the perfect accent. The little blue scallop ribbon was some of my favorite ribbon ever. It was self-adhesive, and I had just a tiny bit left. I was able to put some above and some below the pictures, but it looks like a full strip of ribbon. I love saving on my supplies! I layers lots of patterned papers because it's one of my favorite things to do, and as usual, I doodled on nearly ever scrap on the page.

I added my journaling to the card in the envelope under the pictures. That way it's still there, but it's not the primary focus of the page. I love this little flair embellishment cluster!

Thickers are some of my favorite supplies. I love these new phrase Thickers. I used phrases from two separate packs to make the title. Perfect!

I hope you enjoyed looking at my page. Please leave me some blog love and let me know your thoughts. Thank you!

Pentatonix

My husband and I love Pentatonix, and even though we weren't able to get great pictures of the concert, I was excited to be able to scrap them. It's rare we get out and do anything exciting.

I used various papers and supplies from my stash for this layout. I just pulled it all together, and chose the papers around the title die cut that I had created just for this page.

I used a sketch from ScrapMuch? to create this page. Laura Whitaker sketches make me happy!

The die cut was created by Stacia Brandt from Dancing Daisy Designs. She is extremely talented, and a wonderful friend. As soon as I told her what I wanted, she made it, sent it to me via e-mail for approval, and shipped it. So wonderful! She can be reached through Facebook if you are interested in seeing more of her work.

Our selfie came out goofy, and not flattering at all, but you can tell that we are happy and having fun. I wouldn't change it for anything!
I mounted the pictures on black cardstock and then inked the edges with Quick Quotes chalk ink in Coconut (white). I love the dreamy effect it gives the edges.

If you look closely at the photo you can see the lettering that the die cut was created to resemble. I think Stacia did an amazing job!
I had these little round plastic doiles in my stash forever! I was thrilled to be able to finally use them.

This was a pretty simple layout for me, but I enjoyed creating it. Thank you for taking a look at it. Please leave me your thoughts, and feel free to join my blog. Thanks!
